Open: Monday, October 15, 2018 9:00:00 AM - Friday, June 14, 2019 1:00:00 AM

Abstracts for Oral Presentations & Posters

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 15, 2019 at 11:59 PM EST

The 137th meeting of American Ornithology and the 3rd annual meeting of the American Ornithological Society (AOS) will be held in Anchorage, Alaska, from 24-28 June 2019. We invite you to submit an abstract for consideration as an oral presentation or poster in the general sessions. We encourage abstracts from all members of the ornithological community and expect a meeting that reflects speaker diversity and gender equality.

You do not need to register for the annual meeting before submitting an abstract; however, you are required to register within 30 days of receiving notification of abstract acceptance to ensure your place in the scientific program.

We have a limited number of slots in the scientific program and we want to ensure that we can offer a talk to as many authors as possible (for those whose first choice is a talk). Therefore, we will have some limits on authors who want to give more than one talk: A person can present two symposium talks and zero general session talks, or one symposium talk and one general session talk. Three talks by the same author will not be allowed (unless space allows all other requests to be met). Posters are not restricted (e.g., an author giving 1-2 talks can also give one or more posters). If you have questions, contact the Chair of the Scientific Program Committee (contact info below).

Note that Early Bird Registration will close approximately 1 week after notifications have been sent.

Abstracts must be submitted online by 15 February 2019 at 11:59 PM EST.

See the Call for Abstracts page on the meeting website for more detailed instructions for authors.

**If you wish to also submit an abstract to the Early Professionals Mini-Talk Symposium taking place at the AOS meeting on Wednesday, 26 June, please use the separate online submission form.

Please send any questions about the program or submission process to the AOS Scientific Program Committee Chair, Courtney Conway (via email to meeting@americanornithology.org), with the subject line AOS Call for Abstracts.
