Applications for 2020 AOS Student Membership Awards
Submission Deadline: 31 December 2019 at 11:59 PM EST

The American Ornithological Society (AOS) provides one-year student membership awards to qualified undergraduate or graduate students from anywhere in the world interested in pursuing a career in ornithology. Membership awards provide full AOS membership benefits, including free access to The Auk: Ornithological Advances, The Condor: Ornithological Applications, and Birds of North America. Applicants granted a Student Membership Award will have time to register early for the 2020 annual meeting (which will be held as part of the 7th North American Ornithological Conference), compete for Student Travel Awards, apply for the Student Presentation Award Competition, and apply for a Student Research Award (see the AOS Calendar for a complete list of award deadlines). AOS reserves the right to limit the number of membership awards provided during one academic year.

  • Applicant must NOT have been a previous member of the AOS (or a previous member of the AOU or COS).
  • Applicant must be (1) a currently enrolled student of any country, any level, or (2) a student between degree-seeking programs with intent to re-enter a degree program in the future.
